This weekend is a great time to kick back and experience fall in our county. The ARCA Menards Racing Series rolls into town and racing takes place on Saturday at the track. We have outdoor recreation, community festivals, and historic attractions all on the agenda. So much to see and do this weekend. Get out and Enjoy Washington County!

Campbellsburg Country Festival - September 11th and 12th

‍‍The Campbellsburg Country Festival will be held September 11th & 12th, 2026.

This will be the 32nd year of the festival!

‍Fall Book Sale at Salem Public Library - September 11th and 12th

‍Myotonic Mayhem at the Fairgrounds - September 11th and 12th

‍Washington County and the Washington County Goat Association invite you to this event. The Myotonic Goat show for the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR), will be held on September 11-12, 2026. They will be having a show on Friday evening, Sept 11 and then two shows on Saturday, Sept 12 at the fairgrounds.

3 MGR Sanctioned Myotonic Goat Shows. Show A @ 4pm Friday September 11th, Show B @ 8:30 Saturday September 12th and C @ 2pm Saturday September 12th.

A myotonic goat, also widely known as a fainting goat or wooden-leg goat, is a unique American breed defined by a hereditary muscle condition called myotonia congenita. When startled or excited, their muscles lock up temporarily, often causing them to fall over while remaining fully conscious. 

Welcome to the event guests from Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri and the state of Indiana and their goats!

The event will be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

‍Friday Night Lights in Washington County - September 11th

It’s time to grab your school colors, bring the family, rally your friends, and experience the excitement of Friday night football as the Salem Lions, Pekin Eastern Musketeers, and West Washington Senators take the field for another season.

From the opening kickoff to the final whistle, these communities come together to celebrate school spirit, hometown pride, and Indiana football tradition.

‍Random Rydes invites you to bring your ride to the Salem Square beginning at 5:00pm. All rides are welcome and parking takes place around the historic downtown square.

‍Grind XIII 5k Run/Walk and BBQ at Beck's Mill - September 12th

J‍oin runners and walkers from around southern Indiana as the Gayle Cook Memorial 5K run/walk begins at 9:00am at Historic Beck's Mill.  Racers will receive breakfast by Shady Patch as part of their entry fee. BBQ begins at 11:00am and is sponsored by Mt Carmel, and Walmart.

‍September Card Show - September 12th 9:00am - 2:00pm

‍The September 12th card show is moving to West Washington Jr. Sr. High School. The event includes free admission from 9:00am - 2:00pm. They will have over 100 tables of modern/vintage sports cards, Pokémon and much more. Best of all it will inside in the air conditioning.

The Great Combine Pull at Cornucopia Farm - Sept 13th

‍From the corn and soybean mazes to their petting farm and pumpkin patches, Cornucopia Farm offers something for everyone. With sweet treats, delicious burgers and more available at the Café no one in the family goes hungry! The farm is located just 10 miles East of Salem.

Annual Pawpaw Festival at Hunter's Ridge Winery - Sept 19th / 20th

P‍lan a visit to Hunter’s Ridge Winery and help celebrate North America’s largest native fruit, the Paw Paw. Festival times are 10am to 6pm. There will be dozens of vendor booths to explore, things to see and do for all age groups. Children and pets (on leash) are welcome! Admission and parking are free.
